Comments (0) | A Nipomo man was arrested Monday morning in Pismo Beach on suspicion of possessing child pornography, as part of a multi-agency investigation involving state and federal bureaus.
Jeremy Neubauer, 29, was arrested about 10 a. m. Monday, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.
Several people also have been arrested on suspicion of criminal activities related to the case, Eimiller said. It’s unclear whether the people arrested live in California or elsewhere in the country.
The U.S. Attorney General’s Office is set to hold a news conference in Los Angeles this morning to discuss further details of the investigation.
After he was arrested, Neubauer was taken to Los Angeles for an initial appearance in the U. S. District Court. A judge granted a nearly $5,000 bail, according to Eimiller, but it’s unclear whether Neubauer posted it.
If he did not post bail, Neubauer would be scheduled to be held at Metropolitan Detention Center, a federal prison in Los Angeles.
Neubauer had been working as a temporary letter carrier at the Pismo Beach post office since October, according to U.S. Postal Service spokesman Richard Maher.
Eimiller and Maher said they didn’t know whether Neubauer was arrested at the post office.
