Harmony
Traffic delays will begin Monday on Highway 1 near Harmony as crews put in a southbound left-turn lane, according to a county traffic manager.
Motorists may be held up for about 10 minutes from 8:30 a. m. to 4 p. m. through Friday.
After that, while lanes will
be narrower, only intermittent delays on weekdays are expected while the lane is being put in about seven miles south of Cambria.
Papich Construction of Pismo Beach is expected to finish the $1.23 million project in November.
The left-turn lane is intended to reduce the risk of rear-end collisions at the southbound turn east onto Harmony Valley Road, which leads to a one-block commercial district, wine-tasting room and ranches.
